Research

CyberCon Romania includes the International Conference on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime (IC3), a scientific conference dedicated to stimulating research on the evolving cyberspace landscape, addressing emerging information security challenges, exploring innovative solutions, and analyzing the multifaceted dimensions of cybercrime.

The International Conference on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime (IC3) is an annual scientific conference organized by the Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance that aims to encourage the exchange of ideas about the evolution of cyberspace, information security challenges, and new facets of cybercrime. The conference was initiated in 2014 within the “Quality and Dependability” research group at the Department of Electronic Technology and Reliability, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, University Politehnica of Bucharest (UPB), under the coordination of Professor Ioan Bacivarov.

The U.S. Embassy in Romania supported the Romanian Association for Information Security Assurance in organizing the conference under the project “Strengthening cybersecurity education and research for preventing cybercrime” in 2022, a collaboration that earned the prestigious Cyber Outstanding Security Performance Award (Cyber OSPA), in the Outstanding Cyber Security Partnership category.

The International Conference on Cybersecurity and Cybercrime includes scientific papers reviewed by the Scientific Committee composed of internationally recognized personalities from the academic field. The conference proceedings became Open Access in 2022, and indexed in international databases like EBSCOhost, Central and Eastern European Online Library (CEEOL), and Google Scholar. In addition, permanent links to the published papers will be maintained using the Digital Object Identifier (DOI) system.
